What is the Branchburg Education Foundation?

A non-profit organization with fifteen years of experience fostering educational excellence in Branchburg Schools and Somerville High School by:

  • Generating corporate and private financial support.
  • Providing more than $30K annually in grants for exceptional programs.

Signature Grants

(Funded annually, enabling the following programs)

  • Author’s Day: A unique experience each spring where all 3rd grade students visit with beloved Authors and Illustrators.
  • Geography Day: An interactive way to learn about the history and geography of New Jersey for all 4th grade students.
  • I Love Learning Day: Students at Whiton Elementary put their knowledge to practical use while attending a variety of teacher-created workshops.
  • Memorial Day Celebration: A daylong event for Stony Brook students in which local veterans are introduced and honored. This past year’s event included a laser light show titled Prismatic Magic.
  • Robotics Competition: The Robotics Team at Somerville High School engages in the design, programming and marketing necessary to build a special purpose robot and then compete on a national level.

2010-2011 Unique Grants

  • Document Cameras: Teachers and students are now able to display and share a wide range of information and bring lessons to life. Cameras were purchased for the K-5 grades.
  • Motivational Assemblies: Throughout the year, a variety of motivational assemblies are provided to all grades re-enforcing pride, friendship and choosing the best path through life.
  • Pick a Packet Day: Students are brought together in a team setting and are immersed in a day long problem solving process all while having fun. (3rd-5th grades)
  • Publish Me: Writers’ notebooks were purchased to encourage students to publish their “best work” which will be shared as a keepsake with their families. (2nd – 3rd grades)
  • Writers' Workshop for Central School: To culminate the end of the summer reading program, Wendy Moss Author of the required book “Every Soul A Star” visited all Central School students and discussed writing the book and provided a writing workshop.
